Journey Fund kids riding the Tram

Every year, thousands of students come to the Gateway Arch to learn about St. Louis’ history and take a tram ride to the top. It’s an experience many of us fondly remember.

Gateway Arch Park Foundation wants as many children as possible to have the opportunity to enjoy all the Gateway Arch National Park has to offer and is pleased to establish the Journey Fund. With special thanks to the Regional Business Council for initial funding, the Journey Fund will subsidize transportation, meals, and activities like tram rides to the top, the “Monument to the Dream” documentary film, as well as riverboat excursions for those who need it most.

To qualify for the Journey Fund, schools must:

  • Be eligable for Title 1 Schoolwide Program support
  • Have at least 40% student population from low-income households
  • Be located within a 2 hour radius of St. Louis
  • Limit 75 students per visit
