Corporate partners of the Gateway Arch Park Foundation support the mission of the foundation to activate and conserve the Gateway Arch National Park. Bank of America was an early supporter of the CityArchRiver project and supports community events and programs at the park today. We asked Bank of America Market President Michael Lawrence about their commitment to the Gateway Arch National Park and St. Louis community.

What is Bank of America’s philanthropic focus in the St. Louis community?

Michael Lawrence: We’re helping advance economic mobility in order to build a thriving community. This includes investing in workforce development, basic needs, affordable housing, education, community revitalization, and arts and culture. It’s all part of our approach to responsible growth.

Why does Bank of America believe in supporting the Gateway Arch Park Foundation?

ML:
Bank of America takes great pride in supporting this special landmark that means so much to all of us and helps bring our community together.

Why should other individuals and organizations support the Gateway Arch Park Foundation?

We have an incredible monument and national park in our front yard. It defines St. Louis. It’s important to keep it vibrant for residents and visitors to experience for generations to come.

Anything else you’d like to add? We’re listening!

Our commitment to St. Louis, and particularly downtown, is deeply rooted. George Knight Budd came to St. Louis in 1835. Shortly after he arrived, he convinced other influential businessmen in St. Louis to launch a bank — the Boatmen’s Savings Institution. Bank of America continues this commitment to civic responsibility by helping our clients and our community have the power to do more, achieve more, and reach new heights.
