Perspectives from the Park: An Artist Talk

Artboard 1

Thursday, August 27, 2026 | 6 - 8 P.M.

Gateway Arch Park Foundation Office

Meet the Artists who brought you their Perspectives From The Park

Join us for our second annual Perspectives: An Artist Talk on Thursday, August 27, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Gateway Arch Park Foundation office in Downtown St. Louis.

This special evening offers an opportunity to hear directly from artists Lauren Knight and Carolyn Lewis as they share how the Gateway Arch and its surrounding landscape inspired their original works, exploring themes of nature, growth, community, and belonging. Their perspectives remind us why places like this are worth caring for. Following the conversation, guests will have the opportunity to meet the artists, ask questions, and continue the discussion over light appetizers and beverages.

Space is limited and advanced registration is required. To reserve your spot, please register here:

Count Me In!

Both 2025 and 2026 Perspectives from the Park prints will also be available for purchase at the event. We hope you will join us for an evening of art, conversation, and a deeper look at how artists interpret one of our region's most iconic public spaces, a place, with your support, we work to care for every day.

Rooted in Blooms, Reaching in Steel by Carolyn Lewis

"My thoughts behind this piece were inspired from our conversation a few weeks ago. The themes I am focusing on are:
Growth…locally and nationally
Seasons of change…new local businesses, new changes at Kiener Plaza, a nod to the new grounds at the Arch
Enjoying nature…the local wildflowers and cherry blossom trees, the Mississippi River, visiting our national parks.

All of these things EVERYONE can enjoy and the Arch provides the space for growth, stories, memories, history, and belonging."

Celebrating the Arch with September Native Flowers by Lauren Knight

"The Arch is for Everyone, because wildlife is for everyone. This painting highlights the naturescape, including the beautiful native prairie flowers in bloom during the late summer months on the grounds at the Gateway Arch. Coreopsis, purple and yellow coneflower, the fruits of the dogwood, seed pods of the false indigo, purple poppy mallow, and asters burst in color and texture in the foreground of the Arch at sunset, reflecting a pink September sky."
